Closing Remarks of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned
Doha Summit on Young People and Employment in the Arab World June 2, 2008-
Ladies and Gentlemen, Members of the Board, speakers and participants:
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for participating in the Silatech Summit. A special thank you to our partners, the Financial Times in particular, presented by its Chairman Sir David Bell and its Chief Editor Lionel Barber, for their support in making the Summit a success. This proves that a meeting of like-minded leaders and thinkers can make a difference.
Since Silatech is an initiative for our young people, I'd like to direct my next comments to them.
We at Silatech believe in you and your ability to make a difference. You have our support, and we trust that you will prove us right. Silatech must stay youthful in its approach, youthful in its innovation and creativity, and youthful in its soul. With your achievements and dedication, Silatech will be able to instill hope and confidence in our society, today and tomorrow.
Dear young people, as of now, Silatech is your responsibility. It's your institution. It was initiated with your ideas and creativity, and you will lend it all the energy and youthfulness it needs to overcome any obstacles with all drive and determination. You have to capitalize on your opportunities. Don't be afraid to take risks and to try. Think out of the box.
Thank you.
