About Silatech

Silatech is a bold new initiative engaging the public, private and civil society sectors to promote large-scale job creation, entrepreneurship and access to capital and markets for young people. The initiative aims to offset the lack of economic opportunity and social marginalization of young people throughout the Arab world by enabling systemic changes in enterprise development, employment practices, policy and access for young people at regional and country levels.

Silatech's objectives include: facilitating job linkages through state-of-the-art contact and counselling centres; promoting cutting edge technologies to connect young people with potential employers; providing access to business development services and capital to enhance the growth of small and medium-sized businesses; enabling aspiring young entrepreneurs to start and build new enterprises; and breaking down barriers to risk taking and entrepreneurship.

Sustainable Strategy in a Name
The name “Silatech” is conceived from the Arabic word "Silah" meaning connection. Silatech refers in Arabic to “your connection”. Silatech is about “connecting” young people to opportunities.

The Role of Silatech
As a catalyst, Silatech focuses on mobilising partnerships to bring investment, thought leadership and innovative technology platforms that connect young people to jobs and opportunities.
